D+S Critiques the Miners Saloon

MinersAlley

The D+S Restaurant Review Crew, from Souders Studios food and beverage photography team, went to Miners Saloon in August.  The Miners Saloon is located at 1109 Miners Alley, Golden, CO  80401 in Golden’s Historic Downtown.

Ambiance – It is an alley-side saloon with a rustic mining vibe but nicely appointed. It has a nice indoor/outdoor patio area for Summer days and a nice fireplace for cool nights.  The interior is comfortable and mining oriented but very inviting.

Sound:  Noise level is much less than some bars and is very manageable and friendly.

Must Try Eats: The menu is simple but good.  Sandwiches, paninis, salads and some cool appetizers.  We recommend the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, the Bacon Board and the Egg in a Pot.  The menu is moderately priced.  You can easily share most of the food.  The plates are simple but good.  The Cole Slaw is outstanding.

Must Try Sips:  They have a very good craft beer selection.  There is also a very beautiful well stocked bar so sip away.

Service:  Service was “new” so a little slow.  Noah the bartender/partner is awesome with mixology.  The place is just down right cozy.

Noteworthy Quirks:  Miners Alley is the new cool social alley in Golden that also houses the Golden Moon Speakeasy.  Another must do venue.

Here is a fun blast from the past.  This is one of Souders Studios signature “Splash” images.  This shows the setup with John Wood helping with lighting and then the final image.  This image won a Gold Ladle at the World Food Media Awards in South Australia.  Souders Studios is the only Studio in the World to win Gold three consecutive times.
